Hi, I am
Riddhi Verma Ayyagari
From Engineer to India’s Leading Child Feeding Expert
I didn’t start here. I spent 12 years in the tech industry, working with companies like Urban Ladder, FICO, and Palo Alto Networks. and I approached every problem the way engineers do: find the process, follow the steps, get the output.
Then I had my son. And everything I thought I knew about structured problem-solving met its match in a 6 months old who had no interest in dal ka paani.
Like most Indian parents, I was told to start with paani or purees It didn’t make sense to me to give flavored water to a baby who was already getting complete nutrition from milk. I had a hundred questions that nobody around me could answer clearly, If I make halwa, what do I add instead of sugar? Doctors said no cow’s milk, but what about paneer or curd? I’m a working parent, how do I make 3 separate meals a day? How do I know if he’s eating enough?
Western resources existed but they weren’t built for Indian kitchens, Indian families, or Indian food culture. Indian advice was either outdated, contradictory, or simply hard to find. I identified a gap that nobody was filling, and decided to fill it myself.
The Turning Point
While researching, I came across Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) as a feeding philosophy. The more I read, the more it resonated, not just as a feeding approach, but as a framework for raising a child who has a healthy, independent relationship with food from the very beginning. It was structured, evidence-based, and it made intuitive sense.
I went on to complete a Diploma in Child Nutrition and a Stanford certification in Child Development and Behaviour. I started working with families pro bono while I was still training, and formally launched Baby-Led Weaning India as a practice in 2021.
What I’ve Built
Baby-Led Weaning India is now a global practice. I’ve worked with 10,000+ families across 40 countries, running 750+ sessions annually. I’ve seen virtually every feeding challenge that exists, screen and distraction feeding, force feeding trauma, severe picky eating, sensory aversions, oral motor issues, allergy-related food restrictions, puree dependency well past the appropriate age, and everything in between.
Each case has made my practice sharper. Each family has taught me something new. And every transformation, a 4yr old who was only eating six foods now trying twenty, a mother who was feeding her 13months through tears now watching her eat independently and calmly, reminds me why this work matters.
Beyond personal sessions, I’ve built a Masterclasses, a Nutrition Club, and a thriving Instagram community of 100K+ followers who turn to me daily for guidance on feeding their children well.
My Approach
I come from an engineering background which means I believe in systems, processes, and accountability. But child feeding isn’t just biology, it’s psychology, behaviour, culture, and relationship. My certifications gave me the science. My thousands of hours with real families gave me the wisdom to apply it.
I don’t offer generic advice. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every child I work with gets a plan built around their specific profile, their family’s real life, and their cultural context.
Whether you’ve been told your child is just a picky eater and there’s nothing you can do, you’re trying to figure out why your toddler has stopped eating, or you’re just starting solids with your six-month-old and don’t know where to begin, I’m here to walk you through every step of your child’s food journey. The goal is simple: a child who feels happy around food, and actually eats it.
